Asia’s Next Top Model is a reality television show, based
on the American franchise, America’s Next Top Model, in which a number of women
compete for the title Asia’s Next Top Model and a chance to start their career
in the modeling industry.
The first season is realesed on 2012. And I still really
remember there were 14 contestants with one contestant represented Indonesia.
Her name is Filantropi. But it was so sad that she was eliminated on the 5th
episode. I have no idea what happened to her, she’s just not showing a
commitment to be in the contest maybe because of the stressful quarantine.
This year became the cycle 3 of Asia’s Next Top Model . Guess what? From 14 contestant, we got 3 contestant represented Indonesia (yippie) which I think that’s good because the chances to got the Asia’s next Top Model title is wider than the previous cycle. But it’s a little bit disappointing that Nadya Hutagalung was not longer the host of the show on the cycle 3. Honestly, one of the reasons why I watch this show because of her hahaha. She is replaced by Philippine model and TV personality Georgina Wilson.
There are 3 contestants represented Indonesia this year,
Rani, Tahlia and Gani. So just let make it quick, the first contestant from
Indonesia who was eliminated is Rani on the 3rd episode. I don’t
really expected that she have to be eliminated that early. She’s not in her
best condition on that episode, If I not mistaken She was throwing up several
times before the photoshoot. Then Tahlia, honestly I don’t really remember on
what episode she’s eliminated (8th or 9th) but yea okay so let’s just skip that. Nah, I
don’t really expected that Gani would make to the finale week. Okay so it’s the
first time on AsNTM history that an Indonesian contestand made it to the finale
week. On the 12th episode, they have to take a photoshoot for Harper's Bazaar magazine cover and Gani
received her first call-out and was the first girl to advance through the
finale. I have to say her photoshoot was stunning and deserve to be on of the
finalist contestant.
On the finale week, Gani, Monika and Aimee as the finalist
contestants have to face their last photoshoot. This time, the photoshoot felt
special because it brings Spain's renowned fashion photographer , Jean Baptiste
Fort . Monika who has won four times the best photos and Aimee that
consistently perform were not make Gani guts shriveled . Gani even more
motivated to win for their friends who were eliminated.
One of the judges who were present at the photoshoot spot,
Alex Perry initially praised Gani that looks like a ‘glamorous alien’. On the
beginning of the photoshoot, Gani got a little problem. Alex Perry
criticized that Gani poses were lack of
creative and lack of commitment .
Fortunately , at the end of the photoshoot , she made it to give her best pose.
Furthermore , Gani was faced with the toughest challenge…
it’s a runaway! Gani said that she have
to work hard because alex Perry said short model can’t walk on runaway. She
wanted to prove that Alex Perry was wrongabout her. So, she give the best on
the runaway.
And all of sudden Alex perry kinda taking back his words and
said “maybe I’m wrong, this runaway is Gani’s”
After completing two challenges in the final round , the
time has came for the three contestants face a major judging process .
Aimee was eliminated and there were two contestants
remaining, Monika and Gani. And finally
Gani was crowned as the Asia’s Next Top Model , bringing home the new Subaru
car, photoshoot with Harper's Bazaar Magazine Singapore, icon of Tresseme 2015
and fly to Europe and join with the Storm Model Management.
when Georgina asked how her feeling to be the Asia’s Next Top Model, Gani said “No, I don’t think to be a winner even I too scare to dream of it. I feel so proud to be the first Indonesian who win this. It’s more than a dream come true. I prove my self I work hard for this and this is what I got.This is my happiest moment of my life, absolutely”
Yeay congratulation Gani the winner of Asia’s Next Top Model!
